Low back pain is an extremely common condition among Americans.  The severity of the pain can range quite a bit, but typical, mild lower back pain can typically be treated without invasive surgery.

There’s a variety of tactics that can be used to treat lower back pain, that do not involve prescription drugs.  These include:

  • Aerobic Exercise

Low-impact exercises, combined with specific exercises to help stretch the lower back can help ease lower back pain.  Walking, for example, is an excellent activity to utilize to help minimize the level of pain your back is causing.

  • Chiropractic Adjustment

Chiropractic adjustments help decrease inflammation and pain, and can help increase your range of motion in your back.

  • Rest

Resting for 2-4 weeks can be a treatment in itself.  Rest can help reduce tension and inflammation in the lower back, and depending on the type of injury, the pain can resolve itself.
